Circular Dielectric Rod With Conformal Strip of Graphene as Tunable Terahertz Antenna: Interplay of Inverse Electromagnetic Jet, Whispering Gallery and Plasmon Effects

In this article, we consider the radiation characteristics of a THz antenna made circular dielectric rod decorated with conformal graphene strip and illuminated by field line magnetic current. The has arbitrary angular size location its surface impedance is characterized Kubo theory. Our mathematically accurate analysis uses dedicated hypersingular integral equation for current induced on strip. Discretization carried out Nystrom-type method, which guaranteed convergence. We study dependences powers radiated absorbed in configuration also directivity emission, wide frequency range from 0 to 10 THz. They show very interesting interplay between broadband inverse photonic-jet effect lens-like two types resonances: moderate-Q plasmon modes extremely high-Q whispering-gallery rod.
